How to Manage Your Pictures

How many times have you tried to upload a picture and then you get an error indicating that your picture was not the correct size?  With this Picture Resizing tool, you can now fix this easily.

PicMoney is an online editing site that has the ability to edit your photo and allow you to download at a high resolution.  They offer a free trial as well.


Free Images

Obtaining images online can be a tricky process.  One of my agents completed a Pay it Forward blog and did not use the free site that I recommended in class.  A few months later, he received a bill from the company for the use of the picture that he embedded in his blog.  Be sure you are using original content, your own pictures or your own designs.  Or be sure to use a site that offers FREE images and read the fine-print, as you may need to give the site credit when using their images.  In any event, here is a site that offers images for you to use.  Here are a few sites for you to explore.  Use at your own risk: – Zero cost royalty free images – Tons of images here!

Blogging Tools

Article Spinning is used by bloggers to take content online and have it “spinned” to change it and then post that new article on their blog.  While I advocate writing your own unique content, this tool can be useful when you are trying to optimize a particular Keyword Term.  You can use your own blog that your wrote, let’s say on your FARM area.  You can spin your own article, using the same Keyword Term and blog that article in a different format online.

This service used to be a paid service only, so having a free tool is a nice time-saver.

KCM Blog–  This is blog site that is all about real estate.  While you are able to re-blog their information, they also offer a paid membership that allows certain benefits.  This may be a great tool for you to add to your toolbox.

The National Association of Realtors also offers free information to assist  you with your blogging strategies.  All you need to do is sign up for this free service.  Use this information to create blogs and then have those blogs automatically be shared on  your social sites.  Be known as an expert of your field.

9 Tips for Headlines that Capture Attention

Karen Jones, Marketing CoachHeadlines are used in just about every aspect of marketing, such as blogs, emails, landing pages, postcards or webpages. An irresistible headline is the lure that gets you noticed and read.

It’s known that the average the consumer will scan headlines prior to reading the article itself, therefore headlines are extremely important when writing and getting noticed. Think of your own habits when scanning over your emails and junk mail that you receive everyday.

Creating Headlines that allows your prospects to read on is the whole goal. So…. to help you with your goal of writing an intriguing Headline, here are 9 tips to help you get noticed:

  1. Use numbers: Odd numbers seem to catch the most attention. Take a look around and start noticing what you see in magazines, mailers, etc. The more obscure the number the better. “13 Steps in Preparing the Sale of Your Home.” or “The 3 Most Important Steps When Buying a Home.”
  2. Using Adjectives: Describe what the body offers with a promising adjective. “Essential, Affordable, Basic, One-of-a-Kind, Exclusive.” You can use these terms with listings or to attract sellers or buyers. Example: “An Essential Guide for Anyone Planning on Buying a Home.”
  3. Make a Strong Promise: What homeowner doesn’t want to know this kind of information. “How to Sell Your Own Home in Less than 37 Hours?” You and I both know the answer…does the homeowner?
  4. Headlines that Start with the 5 W’s: Who, What, When, Why, Where and even How is information that provides knowledge. “Why Sellers End Up Frustrated When Selling Their Own Home.”
  5. Make Lists: Readers love lists of reasons, steps, ways, tips, tricks, secrets, ideas, techniques, strategies, facts, methods, even statistics. Example: “Request this Checklist for 15 Tips in Selling Your Home.”
  6. Value Marketing: You know how I feel about this one. Providing value will keep your readers reading. And when they are ready to move forward, you’ll be Top of Mind, as you have kept information flowing to them. A good headline often answers the question: “What’s in it for me?”
  7. Education: Another part of Value Marketing. Include words such as “Guide”, “101” “First Time” “Complete”. This will help provide assurance to your reader that the information will be in terms that they will understand.
  8. Use the word YOU: When you write, keep the “I” out of the sentence and make it all about them. You make an immediate connection with your reader when you write in the 2nd person. “3 Tips in Buying a Home” to “3 Tips that You Need to When Buying a Home”. Do you feel the difference?
  9. Start with a Verb: Your headline is an invitation to read on….so “Grab This Deal Before It’s Gone.”


You put a lot of effort when creating your Marketing pieces, so be sure you’re grabbing the prospects attention from the very start.

1.)  Know your audience…in other words, “Target Blog”

You do need to know who your audience is to win their attention.  Knowing what your Target audience is looking for so you can write to their needs is a strategy well worth the effort.

Do you want feedback from your audience?  Use Survey Tools, such as SurveyMonkey to ask questions.  When your audience responds, it provides you with inventory of new topics to write about.

2. Connect with your Readers- Capture their emails

By providing new and useful content, what I call Value Marketing, is an incentive for your readers to want to stay connected with you.  And as you connect with them and continue to provide valuable information, when they need the services of a Real Estate Professional…you just may be Top of Mind.

3. Be a Value Marketer….not a Salesperson to your readers.

We just spoke about Value Marketing and let me take it a step further.  Consumers search the internet for answers and if they come upon your site, you want to provide value to them, so they will keep coming back for more.  Your sidebars of your blog can promote you and your cause as a Real Estate Professiaonal…so writing quality contact allows them to read your blog and your sidebar promotes YOU and your services.

4. Be Different and Dynamic

This is the main factor you need to become a successful blogger!

Try to look at hot topics from different angles; address some of the biggest misconceptions on a topic and suggest ways of solving them.

Always look for ways to make your blog contents unique and ensure you always come up with creative views on your topic.

5. Leverage the influence of Social Media

Your blogs can automatically post to your Social sites which allows you to take your content to the next level.  Ask for feedback from your readers and even other real estate professionals.  Earning the respect of other professionals is a great way to show that your content is well-worth reading.

Blogging and Posting to Social Sites Automatically

How would you like to Blog and Post to your social networks automatically?  If you use WordPress, you have the option of installing Jetpack.  And when you install Jetpack, one of the services is called Publicize.

Here are some pointers to help you use the service:

  • Saving a post as a Draft will not publicize it.
  • Static pages will not be publicized.
  • When you add new connections, you have the option to decide whether it will be available to just your account or all of the other users on the blog as well. To make the connection available to everyone, just check the prompt for that at the time you add the connection.
  • When making a connection available to all users of a blog, the only thing any other user on your site can do is post to the social network. They do not have access to do anything else such as getting access to the social network account directly.

Activate Publicize within your Jetpack, choose your settings

  1. Go to Settings → Sharing in your  dashboard;
  2. Click on “Connect” next to the Social Network you want to connect to;
  3. Log in to that Social Network site and authorize the connection.

Once you’ve approved a connection to any of the services available, you’ll see a Publicize section in the Publish box on your post writing screen each time you write a new post.

And then when you blog, it will show you where your post will post to.
